This year we have selected the following options. Please click on the title to be directed to their website. Please select your preference within the speaker’s agreement form.

Located in West Timor within the province of Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), Indonesia, the Muder (Mother) Ignacia Clinic, a general hospital (including maternal services) provides health care to the people of one of the poorest regions of Indonesia. Since 2016, the hospital has cared for over 65,000 patients.

Remarkably, the hospital was built almost entirely through the efforts of Dr David O’Rourke OAM, who invited his own patients to contribute to the project by donating part of their consultation or surgical fee – not to him, but directly to the cause.

With the support from the ASA NSC25 speakers’ donation, the “One Birth as a Time” project will provide free antenatal visits and a safe, supervised delivery at the hospital. Each mother will also receive a take-home kit with essential supplies to support both her and her newborn.

The project continues the clinic’s mission of hope and healing – improving maternal and infant health, one safe birth at a time.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) or Doctors without Borders provides medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare.

Lifebox addresses critical gaps in surgical safety through tools, training, and partnerships. They focus on three core pillars of safer surgery – improving anesthesia safety, reducing surgical infection, and strengthening surgical teamwork. So far, this approach has made surgery safer for 181 million patients around the world.

Fund a Fellow through World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists offers Fellowships to anaesthesiologists from low and middle-income countries to increase their skillset and become leaders for anaesthesia once they return to their home countries.
