Sustainability @ NSC25
Sustainability
Through collaborative efforts, NSC25 aims to inspire change and drive impactful solutions that pave the way for a sustainable and regenerative future. By incorporating sustainable principles throughout the event, we can reduce waste, preserve resources, and motivate participants to embrace environmentally conscious practices.
Growing a Greener Future: The NSC25 Plant-a-Tree Initiative
The ASA and DCC&A are proud to partner with Carbon Neutral to contribute to a sustainable future.
For every registered delegate at NSC25, a tree will be planted as part of the Plant-a-Tree Program—a project dedicated to restoring landscapes and rejuvenating natural ecosystems by planting only native trees and shrubs.
Want to make an even greater impact? You can contribute by purchasing additional trees for just $2.50 each during your registration. Your support will further our commitment to environmental sustainability and ensure that NSC25 leaves a lasting, positive legacy.

Facts and Figures
-
Name badges
We are opting for recycled bamboo lanyards and eco-friendly name badges made from recyclable paper. We encourage delegates to return their name badges at the conclusion of the conference so that they can be properly recycled.
-
Suppliers
Our focus is on collaborating with local suppliers with sustainable social and environmental practices to reduce the carbon footprint of the conference.
-
Delegates
Delegates are encouraged to contribute to sustainable practices in various ways. The ASA and DCC&A will be working with Carbon Neutral to plant a tree for every NSC25 registered delegate.
-
No single-use items
The aim is to avoid or reduce single-use items which includes, but is not limited to, coffee cups, exhibition material and delegate collateral.
-
Digital versus paper
We are reducing the need for printed materials on site by using digital signage and offering a mobile app which includes all program and sponsorship information. We strongly encourage all participants to utilise the conference app and avoid requesting or accepting any printed materials.

Acknowledgment of Country
We acknowledge and pay our respects to the Ngunnawal people, the traditional owners of the Canberra region where NSC 2025 will be hosted. The Ngunnawal people have a deep, spiritual connection to the land and are responsible for ensuring it is respected by all that use it.
We commit to respecting the land, people and culture of the Ngunnawal Nation during the conference, and at all times.
